UKTFA looks to recruit

9 May 2008

Alloa-based trade association the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) is searching for candidates for two new senior management posts, including a general manager to run its head office at Cooperage Way Business Village.

The UKTFA represents the interests of the timber frame industry, with a membership of more than 270 firms around the UK.

Following consultations with UKTFA members and a decision by the Board not to reappoint a chief executive, the Association is now considering a new structure for the organisation, with a general manager to direct its day-to-day operations from this summer and a director of external affairs to spearhead lobbying and communications in 2009.

Stewart Dalgarno, chairman of the UKTFA, said:

"Our aim is to build a stronger, faster-moving business that supports the members and is better able to exploit the opportunities ahead to grow the market for timber frame construction.

"We're looking to recruit a general manager by June. (And) Bby the end of this year we will also need a director of external affairs to lead the Association's promotional work and political and construction liaison in 2009."
